Made using hand-mixed dyes from kitchen staples — hibiscus flowers, turmeric, coffee, black tea, avocado pits and skins, and iron water — this postcard-sized piece explores color drawn directly from food rather than commercial paint. Each dye is prepared and applied by hand, giving every piece subtle variations in tone and texture that can't be replicated by tube paint. Part of an ongoing series experimenting with natural, food-based pigments on watercolor paper.
